Experience Designer & Strategist

Activating the potential in people, products, processes, and places

Kara Sanchez has 12+ years of diverse design experience, including the roles of experience designer, researcher, strategist, project manager, and creative director. Regardless of title, she is known for her innate curiosity, ability to learn quickly, and passion for building team & company culture.

Kara has tackled challenges across a wide variety of industries and mediums, ranging from socially conscious architectural design to family-centered wellness programming to UI/UX design for complex enterprise applications for property insurance. Throughout her career, she has helped multidisciplinary teams understand end user needs and has led the strategy, concept development, design, build and implementation of physical and digital experiences. Her superpowers are building trust quickly, bringing clarity to chaos, and facilitating the co-creation of holistic, impactful experiences.

Kara holds two bachelor degrees from the Rhode Island School of Design in Architecture and Fine Arts. Her architecture thesis project focused on designing for the homeless community in Providence, specifically the transition from the street into permanent housing. With people's stories and experiences as her inspiration, this project ultimately led her to pursue human-centered design as a methodology to impact the lives around her.

Outside of work, you might find Kara adventuring with her little family, hosting tortilla making workshops with her husband, holding a pop up dance party in the park, or feasting with neighbors. She is currently based in San Antonio, TX and open to mission-driven lead experience design opportunities in the areas of healthcare, public services, and hospitality.
